I grew up hearing about Mount Union because both of my parents graduated from here. I visited the campus several times and attended some football games. The facilities on campus offer the student body many hands-on learning experiences and the beautiful campus stood out compared to other universities. I was lucky to receive the Trustee Scholarship, 七叶树女孩州奖, and the Academy Scholarship through Mount Union. I would tell students to not be afraid to choose a college close to home. Mount Union provides many opportunities. Don’t shy away from trying new things that you might not feel qualified for.

Mount Union provides a personalized education where the professors know you by name and are willing to help in any way they can. 作为通勤者, I feel as though I am getting the best of both worlds because I can further my education and stay in touch with my family. I love the small class sizes and challenging course work. I have had the opportunity to experience hands on learning by playing math games with other math and computer science majors as well as the math and computer science faculty. It was a great opportunity to interact and get to know both students and professors in a nontraditional learning environment.
为什么数学?
I have always had a passion for mathematics and knew that I wanted to enter a math related field since middle school. I love the challenge that math brings and that it provides concrete answers. Currently, I am interested in a mathematical profession that is centered around helping others. That might be working in the medical sector as a data scientist or working for a large insurance corporation doing risk analysis. 综合核心, 有挑战性的课程, and emphasis on teamwork will prepare me for my future career. 综合核心 has allowed me to sharpen my communication skills through the many presentations that I have given. One of the most useful classes that I have taken so far is Introduction to Professional Writing. It had real world applications and the presentation revolved around collecting data from Mount Union students and drawing conclusions about the data collected.
